Lynn Berryhill - Her Journey, Her Passion as Artist and Teacher

Lynn Berryhill’s success as a renowned abstract painter and teacher comes from her journey of self-discovery and deep spiritual exploration. Her paintings are based on perceptions and experiences within this continuing journey.

Lynn began her studies at the University of Utah in Science. She then became an Art Major and later continued her studies at Sonoma State University in California. For over a dozen years, Lynn has taught classes on the Creativity process, utilizing many insights, tools and exercises to help the student/artist “push the envelope” of their individual creative process.

One of Lynn’s teachers, Dick Olney, said: “You cannot become the true artist until you have ceased being the performer.” Lynn has reflected upon and been challenged by this statement over the years. Lynn has also had extensive training and teaching in Inkan Shamanism with Alberto Villoldo, PhD. She has taught many Shamanic classes through the Four Winds Society.

“My images and symbols often come to me in meditation, in shamanic journeys, in dreams.”
Lynn believes that our work is to WAKE UP through the practice of awareness to the higher consciousness available to us at all times. It is our challenge, our opportunity to heal and clear ourselves of beliefs and patterns that limit our perceptions and our lives.

Lynn has had numerous one-person and group art shows. She participated in Natalie Rogers’ “Person Centered Expressive Arts Therapy Institute.” She had artist’s residencies in Jackson, Wyoming, for ten years. The Utah Humanities Council awarded Lynn and her partner a grant to develop “Embracing Opposites—In Search of the Public Good.” This program won state and national awards and served
as a model for many far-reaching future programs.
She has traveled to Europe, India and Peru in her seeking and exploring process.

For Lynn Berryhill, all of life is an enigma to be uncovered. “As we move along the road of our journey, we come to many stones that ask to be uncovered, turned over and examined. Some of these stones are beautiful, some are not. By releasing the energy bound in our stones, we discover more of our own mystery and our deep Essence. This is finding the true Self, which remembers that it is a part of and connected to the Whole. In this recognition, we make ourselves available to our Soul’s true destiny.”
